Hi Mr. Jung, This is Google ATV team's request and below is the description in ATV help center. Ethernet-Only Android TV Devices (no Wi-Fi) In Android 9 and 10, not declaring Wi-Fi feature prevents Android’s Wi-Fi Manager from loading. Many apps incorrectly assume that Wi-Fi is synonymous with network and location access. This assumption causes crashes and other unexpected behavior for devices without it. Additionally, many Play Store apps will be unavailable as the store will not display them when the app requires Wi-Fi. We are working to educate app developers that not all Android devices have Wi-Fi and that it should not be used as a synonym for network access. Current Guidance OEMs with devices which do not have Wi-Fi, but do have another method of accessing the internet (e.g. 4G/5G/Ethernet) should falsely declare Wi-Fi feature in their device configuration and should hide any Wi-Fi related elements in device settings. |
